The Gift of Flexibility
Nothing makes me happier than when people tell me Lastics has taken away their pain. At first, of course, I expected people would feel more limber when I began teaching them how to stretch, and I knew from my own experience how amazing that can feel. But when the emails and conversations began to occur on a regular basis about pain dissolving, which was often acute, something changed in the way I understood and approached my own technique.
It showed me that connecting to the body through stretching was healing beyond loosening tight muscles. Students were telling me our classes were changing the way they felt, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. They felt better!
Beyond relaxing the body and alleviating tension (which is often negative energy stored and worse, trapped) stretching provides a unique way to feel, connect, focus on and experience the space inside your body. When you find it, you become aware of yourself in a new way. You are able to consciously let go of your muscles, in which case, they will let go of you. When that happens there is a profound release not only in your body, but in your whole self.
It reminds me every time I hear it how interconnected we are, and that freedom and flexibility in the body create freedom and flexibility in the heart and mind too. So when people tell me Lastics helps ease their pain, I feel so grateful that the gift I have to give is a gift of flexibility. So, keep stretching. When your body moves, life moves with it.
